My husband and I have had multiple bad experiences with Greenway Ford from 2008-present. In 2008 we were looking to purchase an inexpensive truck and pay cash. Their inventory was completely overpriced. When we tried to negotiate they insulted us instead. The sales manager actually said to my husband "You just lookin' for something to cut grass buddy?" and then told him he might be better buying something out of someone's driveway.
This past week I saw a BMW online at their Tampa location. We made an appointment to talk financing before they brought it up for a test drive. When we arrived, there were at least 10 salesmen just sitting around. They were smoking directly outside the front door, and some had untucked shirts. Nobody was prepared for our appointment even though we had been in contact with someone throughout the day. The receptionist was playing solitaire. First they needed to appraise my trade. After waiting for 40 minutes they said all the websites they used for appraisals were inconveniently down. While were waiting the salesman said he would call the Tampa dealer to verify the car was still there (after our urging). Although my husband was able to get though each time he called earlier, apparently nobody was answering and they were having problems pulling up their inventory. The entire time we waited we could see our salesman randomly walking around from room to room aimlessly. After an hour of wasted time with nothing accomplished we finally left. It seems that since we weren't getting a car THAT night, we weren't worth their time.
The following day we called back to see if they contacted the Tampa store. Since they waited too long, the car I wanted was now in negotiations. A similar one was at the Orlando location so we said we'd just buy that one but they needed to negotiate on the price a bit. The sales manager said that was out of the question. They wouldn't budge AT ALL. This isn't CarMax. Negotiating is part of the game.
Don't waste your time with Greenway Ford. They're unprofessional, rude, and a huge waste of time.
